The Gibson Custom Shop Jackson Browne Signature Model 1 guitar is the result of a 10-year collaboration between Jackson and Gibson, to produce a guitar inspired by Jackson’s prized 1930s Roy Smeck model guitars. The Smeck guitars are known for their big tone, great projection and pure traditional acoustic sound. The guitar has deep round shoulders, a deep body, 12-frets to the body, and has an Adirondack red spruce top, sustainable English walnut back and sides, slightly wider 1.8″ nut, quarter-sawn solid mahogany neck, hide glue neck joint and scalloped red spruce top bracing. A beautiful dark burst finish, bound fretboard and gold Waverley tuners complete the package. Jackson calls it the grand piano of acoustic guitars.  It’s magnificent in dropped  D, dropped G, open E and DADGAD tunings, yet responds beautifully to a light touch and finger style playing. Crisp trebles, deep bass and a warm midrange. Outstanding. A taste of something fine, indeed.
